From The Director:This time of year I always begin to reflect on what I am thankful for. This year I have many new things to add to my list.
Directing this center has given me a new perspective on being thankful and many more reasons to be. Working with a great team to give your children the best care possible is very rewarding and I am truly grateful for that.
I would like to begin new tradition here. In order to get to know one another, it would be nice to highlight a family or two every month. This family would have a spot on the parent information board, so be on the lookout for this addition to our center and more information. Please let me know your holiday schedules as soon as you can. Have a wonderful holiday and I hope you have many things to add to your thankful list too.
Michelle
Dates To Remember:
November 11th: Veterans day (Care-A-Lot open)
November 27th: Thanksgiving (Care-A-Lot Closed)
NURSERY 1 - November is here! Our little ones are getting so big. They are growing and learning everyday. This month we would like to welcome Sophia to our room. We are looking forward to getting to know our newest addition to our classroom. We are also very excited that Billy is turning one this month!
This month's theme is Moon and Stars. We will be making a moon and star mobile for our room. We will also continue to watch the seasons change, so expect to see some snow and snowflake projects. Around Thanksgiving we will be doing some turkey art, too.
We will continue to work on our fine motor skills by painting, manipulating play dough and playing with mobile toys. Gross motor development is also an important part of our classroom.
Depending on where your child is at, they may be crawling through tunnels or working on tummy time. We are looking forward to another fun month together.

NURSERY 2 - This month we will be looking at our families. The first week we will talk about our mommies and make some presents for mommy, too.
The second week is reserved for daddies. We will look at pictures of daddies and make a daddy collage! Grandmas and grandpas will be the focus of the next week. We will be making Thanksgiving cards and mailing them to our grandparents, so please give me the addresses you would like your child's card mailed to.
The last weeks focus will be on Thanksgiving. We will be talking about family traditions and what they are, including our Thanksgiving traditions. Of course we will be making some fun turkey art, too.
Have a wonderful holiday!

TODDLER - November's theme is "It's a Jungle Out There!" We will be learning about all kinds of jungle animals. We will be focusing on where they live, the sounds they make and their families. I have many art activities planned from snakes to monkeys and even the king of the jungle. Our toddler friends are going to have so much fun with our jungle hunt and jungle games. If your little one has any jungle or animal books to share please feel free to bring them in. Also if you have not brought in a family photo please do because we will be talking a lot about our families this month. We look forward to another awesome month with our friends.

PRESCHOOL 1 & 2-
As we celebrate another month, I am thankful that we can do so together. This month we will be looking at all types of families. We will talk about how our families are all different and that what makes a family is having a safe and loving environment.
Next, we will look at vegetables and how they are grown. We will use vegetables to measure count and even make some "stone" soup. The preschool class will also talk about Native American culture and the pilgrims too. We will also talk about the first Thanksgiving feast.
The last week our room will be decked out with turkeys, - now that's something to gobble about! We will also be talking about different kinds of homes this week. We will begin to learn our addresses too. We will also talk about different kinds of animal homes. So, if you have a picture of your home please bring it in to share.
Have a great holiday this month!
Miss Kim and Miss Karoline
School Age-
Our school age program is small but, cozy. Each day after school the children will have snack and then move right into homework time. Children who do not have homework will have the option to play a quiet game during this time. In addition, we hope to take the children outside each day so please make sure that your child has a spare change of clothes daily that are weather appropriate.
As soon as you know your child's holiday schedule please let Ms Michelle know. Hopefully we will have a nice sized group to do some fun activities with. Have a great holiday!
Miss Karoline
