Your child’s safety comes first!

Safety & Security

Based on OCFS guidelines, NYS Laws and best practice in early childhood, we have established safety and security procedures in place to keep your child safe. All centers have a locked door policy which requires parents to key in a security code, and visitors to ring a doorbell. We are also fully equipped with fire safety systems, monitored by Amherst Alarm. Emergency plans are established and approved through OCFS and available on-site for your review.

Safety & Security Policies

All of our centers have a locked door policy which requires parents to key in a security code, and visitors to ring the bell. We are also fully equipped with fire safety systems, monitored by Amherst Alarm. There are written plans in place at each center to be followed in the event of various types of emergencies, and all staff are trained in these procedures. The Director will be happy to show you the specific plan at your center.

COVID19 Procedures

Health and Infection procedures and policies are in place to keep the children and staff in our programs safe. Sanitizing and cleaning procedures continue to be maintained to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and other illnesses. Children with symptoms consistent with Covid-19 will be required to provide a negative Covid test to attend school/childcare.

Drop Off/Pick Up

Children are dropped off and picked up based on a schedule agreed upon by the family and the program. Children must be walked to the classroom by an adult and dropped off to a teacher. At the end of the day children are picked up from their classroom and released only to people on the pick up list. We reserve the right to request photo I.D. at any time when releasing children.

Emergency Procedures

Care-A-Lot has established Emergency Procedures that are approved through the Office of Child and Family Services and local regulating agencies. Evacuation procedures vary by location and your program director is happy to share this information with you. Fire drills are conducted monthly and Shelter-In-Place drills are conducted twice per year (per OCFS regulations). In the event of an emergency you will be contacted through the Brightwheel app and SMS Text message.
