Shyana Broughton

Hello, my name is Shyana Broughton and I’m your Kenton Care-A-Lot Program Director!

I have been working with children and families for over twenty years in many different facets. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from St. Bonaventure University where I learned to effectively apply my passions with my purpose to my community. I have grown through many different situations and obstacles that has lead me to lead the staff and families here at Kenton! I am also a Certified Doula (Birth, Breastfeeding and Postpartum Partner for birthing families) and I understand the importance of healthy connections from the very beginning.  I am CPR and First Aide certified for adults, children and infants.  

My child-like curiosity has always made me most comfortable around children.  They are busy learning like me.  I love learning things through their eyes and my obsession for babies started when I was young.  Once I started having babies of my own, I knew I would stay in this field FOREVER.  I bring my expertise and  my bloopers with me every day to inspire children, staff and families. 

If you have met me before, chances are you have seen me dancing. I love to dance and have been dancing since I was a little girl.   I have studied all genres of dance but I am most comfortable performing West African dance. I have beautiful family that I adore and spend my weekends with as often as possible.   Within that sweet family I have three children but they are growing right up. My son Paul is 20.  My daughter Nyeelah is 14 and Noah is 12.  I alos love to snuggle my seven year old Pit Bull Hercules.
